In 1992, Ms. Koontz established Pacific Creations International, a global consulting firm which helps clients build global business and marketing plans. The company also conducts detailed market research and competitive intelligence studies for a wide variety of clients. Expertise includes global e-commerce, technology and product market assessments and development of strategic market entry plans. Current clients include multinational companies and government organizations in Japan, the U.S. and Vietnam.

Mary Jean Koontz, president of Pacific Creations International, holds an MBA (marketing) from the University of South Carolina, a B.S., form Georgetown University and is currently pursuing a PhD. (Global marketing) from Golden Gate University. Ms. Koontz began her career as a lobbyist in Washington, D.C., then moved on to manage Japanese Business Development for a large California consulting firm. She teaches Marketing Reserarch and International Business at Golden Gate University. In addition, Ms Koontz lived and wored in Japan (Akita City and Tokyo) for 3 years including work at NCR, Japan and the Japanese National Council of Social Welfare. She also studied Japanese at Waseda and Sophia Universities in Tokyo.
